About us
Casa Santeros produces award winning field to bottle spirits from Sonora, Mexico that embody the resilience, character and strength of the land and its people. Casa Santeros joins the traditions of the past with the innovations of the 21st century while preserving the rich heritage of its roots. In partnership with the Oroz Coppel family and their 7,000 hectare hacienda in the northern state of Sonora, Casa Santeros is a vertically integrated producer of sustainable and artisanal Bacanora.
Our vision focuses on evolving, growing, adapting through the promotion of an artisanal bacanora supply chain, as well as on supporting an environmental model aimed at minimal impact and committed to continual innovation.
“Field to Bottle”
Offering traditional, sustainable and organic products.

History
For most of the 20th century, it was illegal to produce or sell Bacanora, with the only exception being to friends and family. Though punishable by death if caught, it did not deter the people of Sonora from continuing production in hidden, rudimentary locations rather than in the haciendas that were once home to production. Rancho San Isidro, was one of those haciendas, the old vinata (or taberna?) and hacienda abandoned, the hectareas of wild agave quiet, uncultivated, unfertilized, waiting to provide their piñas to a new generation of Bacanora aficionados. In 2020, the idea was born to raise Rancho San Isidro from its slumber, and to rebuild the old ranch house with a new, sustainably minded distillery, and to produce bacanora once again.
Casa Santeros will work with the nonprofit Batfriendly.org to promote and incorporate Bat Friendly practices which play an important role in the pollination and production health of agave.
